Where to play?
Ho Ho Tower has been offered by ELK Studios in a category which is already overcrowded, that of the Christmas themed slot machines. There is a major difference here, and that’s the Chinese spin that the theme gets, since it places the action in Hong Kong, next to one of their most impressive buildings.
For Ho Ho Tower, the choice was made to place no fewer than 99 connecting win lines, on 5 reels of standard size. The game will rely on 100 fixed coins for the wager, with the total value of the bet being between $0.10 and $50.
Theme & Developer
The theme has a modern Chinese feel to it, despite the fact that Christmas has inspired it in some ways as well. The connection with Hong Kong is to blame, the huge city being shown in the background and one of its largest towers serving as inspiration for the game as well. The difference is that to this Chinese theme they added Christmas ornaments and candy. Otherwise, the symbols that you’re seeing are of Chinese themed 7s, red flowers, a Bonsai tree with decorations in it and various pieces of candy, colored in white and red.
ELK Studios is not a developer that everyone has heard about yet, the company being relatively young and offering only a small number of games in this industry. This is the first Christmas themed slot that I’ve seen them release so far, and I have to say that they did a good job with it, especially since they didn’t go the usual route and they actually created something unique in this field.
Base Game Features
You don’t get a lot of base game features in Ho Ho Tower. There are no wild symbols, only scatters that will be used to trigger special features.
One of those symbols will be the Ho Ho Tower mystery feature, which apparently triggers at random and which is turned into another symbol once the reels have been stopped. It can transform into a regular icon, or it can be turned into a special bonus symbol, which counts as five regular bonus symbols. This special symbol is colored in yellow and blue, while the regular bonus symbols are in yellow and red.
Bonus Game Features
To access the bonus game called Wheels of the Sky, you are required to have at least three regular bonus symbols as scatters on the reels, or one special bonus symbol counting as five regulars. Depending on the number of symbols that trigger the feature, you will get it without or with 1 or 2 lives to use in it.
Wheels of the Sky is the main feature of Ho Ho Tower. The game features three different levels, through which you will try to advance. You start off at level 1, where there will be a wheel with prizes spinning for you. The spin can result in a cash prize and in the end of the feature, or it can advance you to the next level. The same happens on the second level’s wheel, only the value of the prizes will be higher there. Ideally, you want to reach the third level wheel before you get a prize and the feature ends, since that’s where the largest rewards are offered.
The slot will offer a jackpot of 50,000 coins via its main feature, Wheels of the Sky, which is valued at up to $25,000.
Ho Ho Tower isn’t your typical slot machine for the holidays, but it comes close enough, and the mix with the Chinese theme is one that nobody else has as far as I know.Play Now With 200% up to €100 Bonus & 50 FS!
