NetEnt has just announced the Universal Monsters: The Phantom’s Curse Slot. This will be the 2nd game with Phantom of the Opera and we might see even the 3rd part as the Andrew Lloyd Webbers popular musical was a lengthy and there is more story to it.
The layout hasn’t changed much as it got 5 reels and 40 fixed paylines and they pay both ways.
What Features Are Interesting?
The game has a lot of features to offer and I will try to count them all. The base game offers us a sticky wild re-spins and of course the standard wild substitution feature.
To get to the free spin bonus round you’ll need to collect at least 3 scatter symbols on the reels. You then will get an unlimited free spin chance. This bonus round will only stop after the Phantom Wilds cut 5 strings that hold the big chandelier – each symbol cuts 1 string.
To get to the 2nd bonus game you’ll need to collect at least 3 Bonus Symbols anywhere on the reels. I was surprised that NetEnt made these symbols also substitute Wilds. This is the good old pick and click game – firstly choose one of 8 roses with a coin value hidden behind them and then you will need to find the highest multiplier from the 3 mirrors on the screen.
What’s Not So Great?
I love NetEnt products and I love different bonus features. This game offers a decent amount of them, the visual work is also good. But there is one thing missing… As a big fan of the Phantom of the Opera musical I would like to hear a bit more of the popular songs from it. Even in the background while I spin the reels. Usually, I hate background music – but if it’s something wonderful than why not?
Should I Try This Game?
This ga,e has a wide variety of bonuses and features to offer and I would think that almost every slot machine lover would appreciate it, especially the Sticky Wilds feature. The game will be available at the end of January 2018, but for now, you can try the Microgaming’s adaptation of The Phantom of The Opera.
